What a delight to have discovered Alakazam this past year! They not only have a wonderful selection of toys and games, but the customer service has been excellent. Beautiful and quirky selection of stuffed animals (they had Digimon!) and they have Usborne books! I love that they carry a wide variety of stuff from Star Wars to Transformers to Calico Critters. The staff are really awesome and sweet. If you have a question they will immediately help you find what you need and they are part of the reason I like to come here. Good selection and lovely people makes this favorite toy store!
I would give Alakazam 100 stars if I could! We were given a basket upon entering, and staff let us know that they were happy to clean anything we (kids) touched to keep items clean. Layout has been changed a little to aid in visual shopping. As always, got the perfect game recommendation and love finding toys we can't get anywhere else!
Lots of different and educational toys!
We walked downtown before getting dinner to stop in some of the shops that were open. This was my favorite place we went into last night. I loved all the kids toys, games that adults and children could both enjoy, books, etc. They had a nice selection and the prices were not outrageous as you usually find at specialty shops. I will likely be back here again on my next visit to Charlottesville. Check it out if you have kids or just love games in general!!!
