My overall experience is good. But this morning a man is going around spraying bathroom spray at the door of all rooms, I am here because of heart and breathing issues and I was doing better until he sprayed this in my room. He should not be going around spraying stuff in every room because he does not know of patients allergies or medical conditions. I had to shut my door in order to breathe. I ask that you please address this issue immediately, otherwise I have had great care from doctors, nurses and entire staff

Poor communication between affiliated physicians. Poor communication between Nursing staff and appointed family members. Hospital staff made ZERO effort to involve our family in moms care. Sent mom straight home from ICU. Visiting Nurses were set up to see mom at home. They showed up the day before she was discharged home. The next day mom went home from ICU. ~ NO home care nurse showed up. We called the Hospital Case manager director ~ gave us the number to call the home care co. ~ we called to say Mom was becoming SOB and needed a visit sooner than later. No response. Mom went into respiratory distress and we had to call 911 who stabilized her, brought her to Emerson who immediately determined she needed to get into Boston ~ Once settled, got the real story of her condition which was quite different than the info we received from Nashoba ~ and it's affiliated Dr.s. Because of the wasted duration of time and wrong information , our mom and Grammy, met her demise after requiring a ventilator. We will NEVER step into a Steward Healthcare Hospital. My siblings an I are all in healthcare and are disturbed at the unorganized and noncommunitive system Steward runs ~ at least at Nashoba Valley Medical Center

This review is for the ER only and not for the doctors and nurses that work there for other non-emergency situations.nnEdit:nI have to revise my rating from a 5 to a 1. Yes, the staff was friendly and nice, but they lost my kidney stone... and apparently this is a big ongoing issue according to the doctor I went to see about it (the stone that is). So now, I need to go for other testing (which will cost money) to guess at what type of stone I had.nIf they can't handle people's kidney stones, then I wouldn't trust them with any other bodily substance. If I was a rare case, I'd give them a 3 stars, but knowing they tend to loose people's stones that need to be sent off to the lab... quite inexcusable.nnOriginal:nNice small place! I went to the ER to pass a kidney stone (was my first: wasn’t sure what it was at first). They told me what they were planning on doing and made sure I understood. The whole thing seemed like a dream (was also in at night). Even though I was still dazed when I woke up (before leaving), the doctor told me everything I needed to know and I was sent home with some paperwork (kidney info, prescription, instructions on what meds I could still take, etc.) A week later and I get a follow-up with how I’ve been doing! I was able to get the care I needed because this place is often overlooked. Very helpful they’re able to share data with my doctor (vice versa) because he’s part of the Nashoba Valley team!

I have always had good experiences at this hospital. The staff makes me feel so comfortable and I’ve felt well taken care of.

This place is listed as PECC (Pediatric Emergency Care Certified)...long story short, they shouldn’t be.nnMy 2 year old had a bad reaction to the flu shot and spiked a 104.9 fever that lead to febrile seizures. Went in the afternoon, was told her fever & symptoms were normal and sent away almost right away. A few hours later, fever spiked higher and febrile seizures began. Spent 8 hours in the ER, they stressed the importance of Tylenol, but let her go EIGHT HOURS after her first dose (it’s supposed to be every 4 hours - so she missed TWO DOSES) without another dose and her fever spiked again. The male doctor (apparently 20 years of experience in this ER, but stated he was retiring this year) was extremely rough and clearly had NO experience with pedi’s. The female doctor who took over “care” (I use that word loosely) seemed disinterested and absolutely clueless and the biggest puzzle of the night wasn’t what was causing my daughters symptoms, but whether or not they were going to transport her to another hospital for “a more in-depth evaluation”.nnThe nurse gave us wrong information, which the doctor apologized for and tried to clear up while fumbling through her explanation...nnThey also had a combative psych patient arrive who was verbally uncontrollable (screaming & profanity) and at times kept getting up to “stretch his legs” while staff (security included) antagonized him making him worse. My 2 year old daughter & us were separated by this guy by a nothing but a curtain. My daughter became increasingly more upset, as well as we (parents) did as well that the ER had plenty of other locations to place this patient (or even us), but we remained next to him for HOURS and endured his clear mental instability and it got to the point where I (dad) had to remain on alert to ensure the safety of my family. Security & staff antagonized him to the point where the patient even stated “if you leave me the f*ck alone and stop f*cking with me, I’ll be quiet” (which at one point he went a stretch of 30 mins being perfectly fine & cooperative and our worry/concern/tension was lessened). A very sick 2 year old never should have been directly next to this situation. Unacceptable.nnWe left more worried than when we arrived.nnI wouldn’t send my dog here. Definitely don’t bring your kids here. I never will again. You’re better off at a CVS Minute Clinic than this place.
