Went here with a girlfriend and we had an amazing time. Great music, ambiance, and island-themed drinks. Go here for easy-going and entertaining music. You'll meet friends along the way too, we sure did! :D
One of my favorite bars in CA and home in to my favorite Tonga Room drink of all time (Ray's mistake). It's a true one of a kind place-small, cramped, and full of odd locals yet extremely charming.nAlso, be aware that the drinks are no joke-2 puts you in a good place. 3 or more is some serious stuff.
What an amazing night. Kevin and his team are amazing. We had such a great evening. Highly recommend coming for dinner and staying for cocktails.
Was a bit difficult to find, so I walked into the lobby and asked. Impressive hotel it's housed in.nnThe Tonga Room itself is very 1980's Tiki re-imagining. Had a blast drinking Mai Tais and making friends with strangers. Would definitely return!
This place is such a great time and excellent for a night you're looking to get a bit off the beaten path and travel to what feels like another time in a tiny and bizarre tropical paradise. It is full of vacation type tchotchkes collected over the years, perfect drinks that will awe your tiki-tastebuds, cigarette smoke(owner operated), and patrons of many generations.
