Casa Coloma is the only skilled nursing facility that I would refer friends/family too in the Sacramento area. They have a family run establishment that focuses on patient care. When ever I am at Casa Coloma the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The facility has outdated décor but is extremely clean. There is never a time when I visit this facility that I do not see a housekeeper cleaning. Something that makes this facility different from others in the area is that the same staff has been retained for many years. The DON at this facility has worked their over 25 years..... if you know skilled nursing, this is an extremely rare occurrence. All I can say is that when you walk into this facility it just feels like home. Thank you Casa Coloma for taking such good care of your patients.

Caring staff with very little turnover in this longstanding, low-key, family run establishment. Several common areas inside & out (plenty of tables, plus bug screen TV's, and upright piano).nnFull time activity director ensures there's plenty for everyone to do, and appropriate variety to meet all residents' needs.nnI have been an independent activities volunteer here since early 2000's by myself, with my mom, husband, children, and now grandchildren. We bring puzzles, toys, balloon games, nail polish, checkers, and most anything else to interact one-on-one with individual residents at their level.nnWhen my mom required two weeks of stroke rehab nursing after her stroke in 2012, she chose Casa Coloma out of an entire list the hospital provided. The dietitian and specialists were genuine and attentive.nn[Note: Only caveat is very little parking for guests.]

I am a Notary Public and have visited Casa Coloma Health Care Center to assist the staff members with their patients' notarial needs.nnI visit many facilities and Casa Coloma is clean, organized, and I can tell the patients are well taken care of. Sadly, I cannot say that about all of the facilities I have visited to assist.nnI have witnessed the most amazing thing at Casa Coloma; their patients are treated like family! In response, all of the patients I have encountered over the years at this facility appear happy and grateful to be a part of this organization. They have organized events and music and I can tell that gives the patients hope; hope is a powerful thing!nnIf there is ever a time one of my family members were to need care, Casa Coloma would be my ONLY choice in a facility!nnThis is truly an amazing place, to say the least!

Food is AMAZING! Great atmosphere, service was top notch! Our server Jose was awesome! He was friendly, drinks were always refilled before becoming empty. I will definitely be coming back here again.

Large, caring staff seems to be everywhere at once. Due to family ownership for decades, lots of family and friends work together there making for low turnover, stability, and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There's even a baby being passed around sometimes (one of the staff brings her little girl in to work!). Food is comparatively excellent -- the nutritionist met with us regarding my mother-in-law's likes and dislikes, and have her preferences permanently noted on her meal card so she is never served mushrooms or stinky cheese! Care is personal and they are very conscious of preserving everyone's dignity to the extent they can. Mother is kept clean, safe, well fed, and comfortable. Music plays in the hall outside her room. Lots of socializing goes on and there are plenty of activities. A family of finches enlivens the front lobby. The staff calls us with any changes they observe or recommend. We were amused by how utilitarian and no-nonsense the place is; it has NO beautiful entrance, piano, ferns, nice sofas, etc. to entice you into placing your loved one there. All that stuff benefits the visitors, not the residents! They don't have it. The facility is old, run down, and depressing. Until you notice the level of care. We are impressed. It's always difficult to place someone you love in a nursing home. Casa Coloma has made the transition as easy as possible for our family.
