Somers National Golf Club

This is a challenging track with some quirky holes, but great value. The people I have been paired with have been nothing but a pleasure to play with. The greens are very quick and while in many cases the tee boxes are in poor condition do you really need lush tee boxes to drive a call off a tee? I went back several times to play it and had a great experience each time out. The staff is great and it is a good golf course for any skill level. Tee times are recommended directly through them or Golf Now. I have used both and never had an issue getting a tee time. I would go through them directly. Same deal without extra fees. If you are within an hour of Somers like I do (40 minutes) you will find this to be a diamond in the rough.

Challenging, tight course, that demands accuracy and thought. Driver is not the best option on most holes, and risk reward is very much in play. Greens are fast, with movement. Demands accuracy and placement of the ball in the correct spots in the fairway. Great course to play regularly to improve skills and create a game that travels well. Also a great place to play as a change of pace, and to test yourself against. Scenery is very nice, and the walk is pleasant with elevation changes on most holes.

The golf course has a great, fun layout, with hilly, narrow fairways, blind shots and dog legs. Definitely a challenging course. Condition of the course seems up and down. Tee boxes sub-par, and fairways have been hard and dry and some greens in pretty rough shape. I understand new ownership is working hard to revitalize this course. It has a lot of potential !!

We have been members of Somers National for two years and have thoroughly enjoyed two great long seasons of golf. Having lived on one of the fairways for 13 years we can see that the course has been greatly improved and the new owners have demonstrated their serious commitment to enhancing the golf experience here. The course gets a lot of play but the maintenance keeps up with the increased activity. Anxiously waiting for the season to open!

A well maintained ( and under new ownership constantly improving ) course that is fun to play and challenging for most golfing levels. A friendly staff enhances the experience and membership is quite a good value. Convenient, accessible, and quite scenic. Definitely worth a few rounds !
