This little pet store that has everything we need. There are types of food here that I can't find at large chain stores. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and care about the animals.

I’ve been here several times with my friend, the 2nd time I bought 3 critters I won’t name. 1st time we came after being at another local pet store and we didn’t touch anything, were just looking around, but when an employee of pet asylum found out we had been in that other pet store they rushed away from us and brought back hand sanitizer and started to say how they had some bug infestation at the other store. Besides being a really rude reaction, we weren’t touching anything so hand sanitizer seemed like a wasted gesture. I still decided to buy from them and I don’t regret that simply because I love the pets I still have. But every single time we stopped by after that there was always some weird excuse that we had to leave: the employee had to run to the bank, closing early for whatever vague reason. I’d call it a coincidence but it happened every time we came in. The last time I stopped by I was looking at the mice. I thought they looked so cute and funny sleeping against the glass of the tank so I took a picture on my phone and as soon as I did that an employee swooped in telling me they had a “no picture policy”. What the hell kind of pet store has a no picture policy? You carry cute animals and don’t allow anyone to take pictures of them? Just seems sketchy.

Super friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help. They have great inventory of pet supplies for all types of pets.

The owner/operator Mike is helpful and knowledgeable, just an all around great guy. My boyfriend has been going to this shop for years and as he started infecting me with the aquarist bug I started coming along. We have purchased many fish and shrimp here and all have been healthy in our tanks, and have also picked up supplies for our fish, cats, and dogs.nnThe animals are all well kept and supplies well organized. If there's a fish you are interested in, Mike is willing to try to find custom orders or take requests.nnAlso, not really related, but I played hide and seek with a cockatiel here last week, he was so sweet!
