Erté & The Peacock Lounge

This place used to be our absolute favorite place. It worked very well for that special occasion with friends or just stopping by for a bite on the way home from Minneapolis. We did not mind that it was a 40 minute drive from our house.nUntil our last visit there, we had never been disappointed with the service or food. We had hoped that the former owners would continue for a long, long time.nnAll good things eventually come to an end. When we heard that new owners were taking over with some of the same staff, we held our judgment. Over a period of several months, we experienced the impact that the new owners were having. It was their place and we It’s wanted to see how it changed.nnThe chef is excellent. Their top end dishes were better than we had expected and it looked promising that we would continue to dine there.nnAnd then came the evening we sat in the bar and ordered a burger for my wife and fish and chips for me. Never again. The wait was too long, the food was over cooked and dry. The attention paid to our meal was less than you might expect from a fast food joint. We had become used to having really really good food served, whether in the bar or in the dining room. Apparently the desire to become the great neighborhood chef in NE Mpls has led them to ignore the bread and butter customers that kept the place crowded on busy nights before the change.nnI’m sorry it’s changed. It will never be the same for us. Like I said, Never Again.

Love, Love, Love this dining experience. We had a table of 6. Music was soft and romantic. Our steaks were done perfectly. The decor was also beautiful. The service is amazing! They also have a fun bar area called the Peacock Lounge.

Love the peacock decor. Great food. We had the raw oysters. The cocktail sauce and mignonette are superb. 4 out 5 only for $$$$$. Pricey!

The food here is excellent! Very creative and delicious. This is my third visit and it never disappoints. However two out of three visits we have had the bearded server, not only was he extremely rude both times but his beard is a mess and in some serious need of tidying up. Will definitely return but will be adamant about a different server.

Pleasant surprise. Great food. Big portions. Very pleasing atmosphere.
