The new location is fire smoking good!nnGreat spot, great food, great people, can’t ask for much else. Had the hush puppies and the brisket sandwich with a ice cold beer on the side. Was hard to leave, had a great window seat with an exceptional server. The vibe the place sends out is spot on, if you got time you have to check out the pictures on the wall too!

The Market recently moved north to Lowery Avenue, a short drive from downtown. Care was taken to preserve the ambience of red and white checked tablecloths, cozy wood booths, and walls displaying celebs through the ages. The food, the real draw, is the real deal. It is a classic barbecue with smoked meats, ample sides, and a good bar. What’s there not to like? Friendly staff. Great place no matter the season- a summer treat or to come out of the cold in Minneapolis.

It’s been a few years since I’ve visited the old Market when they were located at their original homestead on Nicollet, so I thought I’d try them recently at their new locale for a call and pickup. Ordered their half rack pork ribs and onion rings and as always, an excellent choice! Perfectly seasoned and smoked, succulent and loaded with flavor like the beat of the Texas barbecue houses I would frequent when visiting my brother in Houston back in the day. The hostess at the front desk was a total sweetheart like I remember their staff (pre-pandemic) and she ensured we had plenty of accessories and napkins and classic sauces which are as always, some of the best out there. I even a bought couple bottles of their awesome sauce since it has no preservatives, it’s made fresh and must be refrigerated. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic pit smoked BBQ!

Was sadly disappointed by the ribs. Very dry. Full rack have you 1/2 smaller size. Very little meat and very dry. 2nd half was meatier. Still somewhat dry.nWe ordered onion rings. They were good!!nCorn bread ordered also. This was good.nColeslaw was good too.nBut, the main reason we ordered was for the ribs.ud83dude22ud83dude22ud83dude22

There's a reason that market BBQ has survived four locations and seven plus decades.nnIt's really freaking good (!), the aesthetic is on point, and the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic about the barbecue they have on hand.nnTheir regular barbecue sauce is real good but make sure that you ask for the hot stuff. That's where it's at
