Children's Hospital of Michigan

The nurses, surgeon and everyone else at the hospital were amazing. However, the hospital asked to pay upfront which we did. After they billed our insurance company (without notifying them of our payment), the allowable amount was $2,600 less than what we paid. We have now been getting the run around for 4 months about getting a refund of our overpayment.nnNo one from the hospital or who works in Michigan will respond to requests for a call back. I am only able to speak with people in their outsourced billing department in Texas.

The doctors and surgeons and nurses are all great but there are just a couple things I’d like to point out there. My 3month old stayed in the PICU for a week. I couldn’t be 27/4 with my child but I’d go every evening and call twice sometimes three times a day. I understand that it gets hectic for the nurses and I always give people the benefit of the doubt but this time I can’t. I had two nurses that I wanted to speak to someone about. One was of the nurses my baby had, was mostly sitting on her phone, my baby had to use an oxygen tube to breath and when I mentioned to her that my baby’s tubing came out one of the nostrils she didn’t open the light and check she just said “no believe me it’s fine”. No it wasn’t. Then I told her that the oxygen is making a weird gurgling sound, she came into the room again not turning on the light to help her investigate and just undid the tubing which made water spill into my baby’s nostrils! I told her water had spilled into my baby’s nostrils and she said “no no she’ll be fine don’t worry!”. She then called another nurse to help with the feeding and when the other nurse came she adjusted the oxygen tubing, because it was on WRONG. Another nurse kept poking my baby with an ice without even being sure where the vein was, and only once I told her to give my baby a break because she nearly cried her eyes out she said ok. Guys, this is a 3month old baby, she can feel, she is human, my baby wakes up and smiles at us and her surroundings, you nurses have to understand just because they’ll grow and forget their experiences doesn’t mean you may hurt them or neglect them. Just those two nurses had me on fire, the rest are a cool pack and I thank them tremendously for their effort and work!

Amazing staff here! Each person was competent and thorough! Most treated my child with compassion and Kindness as well. Very clean and professional facility.

went to the emergency room, we were in and out the nurses are amazing. However there was a lady in the greeting area that didn’t even take my temperature when I came in the building(all patients and patients families should be getting prescreened) super rude and unprofessional.

Please consider this my formal request to subpoena the social worker assigned to my daughter Kayla Marino on 2/3/20 regarding enabling the severe bipolar, schizophrenic, and hostile behavior of Brandi Whaley, leading up to the premature death of my special needs daughter, Kayla Marino, in early 2020. Official documents to be submitted to appropriate courts to ensure compliance. Flagrant disregard for my parental rights and concern of well being for my daughter should not be tolerated, especially with the negligent care taking ability of her mother contributing to her premature death.
