Horrible experiences at this hospital. Nurses are cold, administration is rude and money hungry. Very heartless the way they deal with people. I went to Providence Ascension Cancer Center and was treated with much more dignity, kindness, and respect.
Hopefully you'll have Doctors who really care about your well-being as I'm sure there are some there at Karmonos, but make sure they have your best interest at heart, before surgery, DURING SURGERY and AFTER SURGERY! as for me I lost complete trust in my Doctors there. as for my story about Karmonos is long. I have written a letter to a few people concerning Karmonos so my story is out there, I am in the process now of looking for new ENT specialist.
If you are a black person, stay away. The staff is only compassionate towards white patients and Arabic descent. The way they treat my mother is horrendous. Some of the good doctors have left since COVID and the new residents/doctors have the incompetent demeanor of a grade school er. If you want your love one to live, especially if they are a POC, don't come here. This hospital is basically suicide.
The best nurses are at KarmanosnnI just left a six day stay in room 5203 at the Karmanos Cancer hospital in downtown Detroit.nThe people working there were amazing!nI would like to thank the nursesnnCam, Carie, Jen, Amber, Lennin& MaryamnYou guys were great!nnAnd there were two incredible phlebotomist. One in particular was a true artist. He could get blood samples without me feeling anything. And I let him know verbally at the time. How much I appreciated his true skill.nnThe Housekeeping people were nearly invisible. But kept the rooms & Hallway looking perfect, thanks
The Emergency nurse that call herself taking care of my mother was horrible. You can tell that she brought her problems to work whatever she was going through and it’s sad. No matter what you are going through never bring it to work and take it out on your patients . If you feeling that upset don’t come to work energy is everything when in a hospital. You have people that is feeling awful already they don’t need your bad energy. This happened on 11/2/2020 just horrible. I normally don’t do reviews but this one I had to do because of her attitude.
