Jackson General Hospital

Wife went into day for medical problems. The doctor actually came into the triage room while the nurse was asking questions. The doctor stayed and told us what he thought was wrong before any tests. They done blood work and some other tests. Really shocked me at how quick they were.

Went in for heart complications and had a panic attack with extreme anxiety because it was a foreign place. I started to cry and I started hyperventilating extremely bad.The staff did not help me in any way the EKG guy just wanted me to lay down even though I was having breathing difficulties and hyperventilating myself. I ask for help he told me to lay down and he was not helpful. I did a curse word and he yelled at me. I know that I was not getting help so I started to get up and leave before i passed out. I was told that security was going to be called on me and was told to leave. Mind you I was going in for heart complications not the anxiety, anxiety was a result of the place. I told the nurse that the EKG guy was unprofessional she told me I was the one that was professional and to leave the building. If I did have a heart attack they did not care they were more concerned about rapper mending me than my health. Do not go to the ER there do not go to hospital they are extremely jaded. I am a 40 year old man who has worked security in two major hospitals and I will tell you I have never in my life been treated so poorly. The best result when someone is hyperventilating is to get the nurse and try to calm the customer down not try to force them to lay down when they don't feel like they're breathing. There was so many other ways this place could have handled the events it was poorly done. I will tell you they are extremely jaded. I don't know if it's Ripley or if it's the people or if it's just West Virginia but that hospital seriously needs to be reworked. Sorry for my spelling errors and grammar I have a minor dyslexia.

Never had more professional treatment, Efficient caring nurses and doctors

Ok, I know this is an odd review of a hospital, but specifically, this is for the cafeteria! This hospital does NOT serve hospital food! They serve REAL FOOD at low LOW prices! Today was their Mardi Gras celebration menu, and all the food was cooked in house and off-the-hook! Crab cakes, crabby patty sandwiches, pan fried shrimp, gumbo, blackened chicken, deep-fried pastry, oven roasted cheese grits, roasted vegetables, bread pudding with rum sauce... The list doesn't end! And this may be a celebration day, but the food here is this good EVERY DAY! The kitchen staff is totally on top of the quality and delivers friendly service with a smile. Better still, the cafeteria is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! You don't have to be a patient to enjoy this amazing food, so don't go shooting yourself in the foot.
