Champney's has good food and great customer service. We were seated outside so we didn't get to enjoy the nice indoor ambiance but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We ordered the clam chowder, lobster roll, grilled chicken and bacon sandwich, and the B-52 chocolate mousse cake as well as a flight of local ciders. I really enjoyed their seafood offering as you can taste how fresh they were. I felt like the sandwich was fine but a bit messy. Bread got a little bit soggy with the maple syrup which confusingly didn't impart as much flavor as I would have expected. The cake was a great way to end the meal though.nnWe had to wait 45 minutes even at 1:30 but it was well worth the wait. We also walked around and explored the historic houses on the street so time passed quickly. Very pretty area overall as well. Would come back if we're nearby

We went here for dinner right after our engagement and it couldn't have been a more wonderful experience. Aside from the beautiful views, homey atmosphere, and delicious food, the highlight of the night was the hostess, Kyle and server, Mitch. Kyle was such a delight and pointed us toward some excellent beer and wine options. She shared in our excitement and made us feel so special. Mitch was such a kind and funny person and made our dinner memorable. We can't wait to come back!

Outstanding food and service. Atmosphere is a little hard to judge because of COVID restrictions but it seemed to have lots of outdoor seating and a few indoor tables. We sat indoors so there wasn't much going on. Attentive staff. A lot of very good drink specials and a pretty long list of draft beer choices. Will definitely go there again next time we are visiting the area!!

We visited Champney's on Saturday September 19th, from out of state, and were thrilled beyond words! The food was phenomenal! 5 stars was not enough for the fish n chips, New England clam chowder or the B52 dessert! It was a great girls day out with lunch on the porch! Kudos to Chef Charlie, to the Baker Cathy and our waiter Mitch K! We will definitely visit again!

The restaurant is a little dated and tired except for the bar whish is very nice. We ordered our drinks of four cocktails and it took about 15 minutes to get them. The drinks were made well but not worth the wait. We ordered two chicken pot pies and two beef and leeks. The chicken pot pies where good and worth the price while the beef and leeks was delicious but not worth the $35 each price. The short rib was cooked in almost a pot roast style with excellent smashed potatoes, again this was an very good meal but $35 for a nice plate of pot roast and mashed potatoes.
