I took a friend there for help and to ask questions about the LIHEAP energy assistance program. The lady working as receptionist was the rudest person I have ever encountered working as a DHS employee. She talked to me like I was a nuisance and made it clear she didn't want to waste her time helping clients or answering questions. When I told her my friend needed help filling out questions on computer because he didn't understand computers, she pointed to the computer in the lobbby and told me I could help him fill out the forms. I can only guess they no longer employ case workers to assist disabled clients? I filled out the forms for him. I will end this by stating DHS at Hobart needs to put someone up front with manners and people skills.

Very disappointed in the case workers in charge of my sons abuse. Clear and absolute proof of endangerment. That evidence never made it into their investigation. Took sides between the mother and father chose the mother. Couldn't understand why I was upset with them not allowing me to same time and opportunity to be with my son as with his mother. Made me feel like I was some sort of abuser which I was assessed to not be. They act as though they would not be angry if their child was taken out of their lives and manipulated away from a caring loving parent.nCame to court testified that I was controlling when all I ever did was to try to stop my child from being exposed to elements that his mother had placed him in.nMrs Wheeler has no heart when it comes to separating a loving parent from their child.nAlthough all the allegations that were made towards me were deemed unsubstantiated they take those findings and make there own rules and testify contrary to what the findings were.nNow that I'm in many support groups and know how DHS is funded. I see the corruption Nationwide and I've seen it personally locally.nI feel they influenced the court in custody battles and do so without regard to the facts and their own assessments. I know they did not like me because I constantly asked for more time with my son and became quite irritated by no response. They pass you from one person to the next, each passing the responsibility to and fro. They're supposed to be helping families to have a healthy loving relationship. I found them to be of no help at all. They actually helped in keeping my son from me. I went to them out of concern for my son safety and well being. They actually cause abuse on my son by not allowing his father equal share time which is been proven best for children. I found the whole ordeal miserable, non supportive, hateful and morally corrupt. Mrs Wheeler should be ashamed of her abuse of my child and myself. They are supposed to help parents not lie and discount evidence that contradicts what they say in court. I recommend not seeking their help when it comes to protection of your most precious children. In the public domain I have no problems in providing all this evidence and proof that they so conveniently never put into their investigation.nIt actually terrifies me to think of how many other people they have done this to.nHelping to take a child from a loving caring parent is wrong whether it be mother or father.nIn the end we know who was telling the truth and who is lying.nI came to them for help and believed in my heart that they would.nThey absolutely shattered my thought that they would listen and give good advice, counseling, and recommendations on how to protect my son. All support was given to the mother and the father is not treated the same or fairly. Shame on their hateful and dismissive handling of a fathers need of his child.
