El Porton Mexican Bar & Grill

My server gave me a look of disdain when I ordered since I asked if he would have my sour cream put on the side instead of a bed of lettuce. He also gave me that same look when he asked for my order the first time and I asked for a menu. He told me the menu was touchless on the table. I'd have to figure that out since I have been in the house not dining in restaurants for about a year. This was my first outing inside a restaurant with my young grandson in about a year. I've been doing curbside or delivery. He brought food with no silverware. I had to get up and ask another server. He did stop by once to check if I wanted a refill. I still had half a glass and so did my grandson. I had to catch another server when I did need a refill closer to ending my meal. It was getting very close to the one hour limitation on holding a table and I saw more people were beginning to come in the restaurant. I did notice that my server was working the takeout bar orders and tables. I never said anything to him since I wanted my grandson to have a pleasant time. He asked me why the server had mean eyes. So, even young children can notice when something not quite right. I thought the soda for small children came with their meal without added cost. I was charged for the soda. I didn't say anything about it. I still left a fifteen percent tip. My grandson loved the taco, rice, and the chips with salsa! My food was delicious, too. A big X was on tables throughout the restaurant to maintain social distance. People wore mask coming inside and walking until seated at table. The weather was pretty nice late afternoon so I didn't hear the heating. The restaurant had a comfortable temperature. I was glad the HVac system wasn't running since we are still in a Covid19 pandemic. I will revisit this location for a second chance on better service in the future since the food was really good.

Great Hispanic restaurant, get the strawberry Margarita, frozen, top shelf, it will definitely make the experience better. The food was great as well!

Not sure what the hype is for this place, the Mexican food here was below average and had no taste.nWon't be back, will continue to look for authentic tasty Mexican food..

My husband and I ordered take out and it was very underwhelming. When I called I attempted to order the 3 taco plate. The gentleman over the phone told me they only had a 2 taco plate. No big deal but it’s on the menu on their website. My husband ordered the veggie fajitas too. When we got our order they forgot to give us the tortillas for the fajitas. The veggies weren’t seasoned at all and the rice was bland. The tacos weren’t terrible but I wish carnitas weren’t so dry. The only things that we’re good were the chips, salsa and beans.

The most authentic Mexican food in town. Delicious! Planning a return this weekend!
