I arrive at this superb place every couple of days since I like the ambiance that is outline this place. The team is highly loyal and qualified. The service is impressively fast. Most important, the food they cook is excellent. I visited often and I was always satisfied. The cost is decent. I highly recommend this place to all my friends.
Fish and Chip was excellent, portion was large. I substituted fries for sweet potatoe fries, great choice. Side onion rings were properly portioned for 2, and were cooked a little too much. But went over well anyway.
I ordered take out. Seafood usually doesn't travel well but this baked New England every bit of it was absolutely delicious. I could swim in the sauce. Would eat here again!
Great service and food.
The Grog is a shade of its former self. There is no bar per se to belly up to. Tables are up near the bar. Alcohol is still served but only to tables. The food was still excellent. I had sea scallops on rice pilaf with roasted butternut squash. The beers were very good IPA s. Still worth a visit if you find yourself in newburyport.
