Scales Exotic Pets

I highly recommend this store if you truly care about your reptiles and fish. They carry quality merchandise that you won't find other places. Also, they are super helpful in actually teaching you the best way to care for exotic pets. You can tell they want to help you do what's best for your pet. Support your local businesses!! They are in the middle of a remodel and rebrand. I won't be shopping anywhere else for my reptiles and fish.

I just changed my review to 5 stars, and should have done so long ago! The owner has rearranged the shop, several times for several reasons, but after getting to know me and understand my fear of snakes, that it is not silly or ignorant, that I was making progress with every visit, and that I am not alone in feeling this way, he actually restructured the layout so unless one chooses to view the reptiles, they do not have to see them. This is amazing! Instead of dismissing me, he took an opportunity to learn about this...phobia, understood it much better, and made adjustments so myself and others can comfortably shop without being anxious about his large pet snake. This proves that when everyone is kind and respectful, good things happen!n(Original review below)nSince I prefer my petstores full of happy, fuzzy babies I must go with a 4 instead of 5 due to the icky big snake factor. But, I am really really not a snake person, and for the most part I manage to use my tunnel vision to thoroughly enjoy Scales. I live in southwest Georgia and do not get to see many awesome pet stores, but this is without doubt the one catering to the needs of those keeping the always tasteful, elusive in this area, planted aquarium, both large (150) to small (3 gallon betta bowl) full of various nano creatures. They have cool fish, the best plants by leaps and bounds, occasionally shrimp, snails, and lots of aquarium dry goods and hardscape items. Though focused on freshwater, they do offer some saltwater selections. The owner is wonderful, always taking time to chat with folks like me who rarely get to discuss our favorite hobby. I have had other owners at other stores promise me special order items, then let me down, repeatedly. Or worse, laugh at me over the way I am doing something with a tank when they are the clueless ones. Corey listens to my ideas, contributes his input, and I leave happy, both because of my purchases and the fresh motivation. And really, what adult doesn't need more of that in their lives? Oh...Scales is also steadily growing and improving, so if you have not been lately, you will be pleasantly surprised!

One of the only places around with medium exoterra terrariums.n(I've checked)nnStore staff was very helpful in deciding which terrarium I needed for a future leopard gecko. The poor guy helped till the end even when the register refused to cooperate. Nice job man.nnEnded up buying a 24 x 18 x 18 with no surprises at home. If you want a good terrarium for a small reptile, without the risk of breakage during shipping, this is the place.nnThey also breed leopard geckos. Plenty of morphs to choose from.

Have some cool stuff but not for macaws which I drove over an hour to get there. Tried to call beforehand but the number was not in service

Great place with great people. Don’t pay any attention to the riffraff wanting to cause problems. Kory is a standup person and great to work with. Check them out and buy a new friend.
