I visited the wound center. The staff and physician made the already bad experience much better. They actually listened and demonstrated compassion, which is hard to come by in these times.nThe Chief Complaint was addressed properly and in a professional manner.
My husband died of a perforated bowel there in December. They accused me if lying even after I had told them right when the ambulance arrived at my house he did drugs two days before his symptoms appeared. They didn't call me to be near him when he died. He needed someone who loved him to ease his mind. He died alone and I missed his last few minutes. I know he may have been passed out but none knows what people hear when they are unconscious. I was staying out of the way already they could have told me. The ambulance never speeded up after he stopped breathing and when I got to the Dr. They told me well he hasn't breathed in 30 minutes. They didn't even speed up. In my opinion it was because they thought just another druggy doesn't matter.. That's how people think around here but its not right. A life is always valuable.nnTo be fair my husband was going to die I think anyway but they were cold and rude incompetent . And they missed what was wrong with him for 2 hours they swore he overdosed and lectured me but he didn't have the right symptoms if they'd been listening..he had severe stomach pain and low temp. If you look it up that's the symptoms of perforated bowel.. If they'd bothered to check the levels in his blood of drugs would not have been high because it was two days after he used. Common sense and the way drugs work because of half life I don't think anyone overdoses two days later..if I get sick I'm going home to Richmond or somewhere else because I wouldn't take my goldfish to this hospital. I get they probably knew he was going to die so they didn't bother testing but they should not have attacked me without proof during the worst moment of my life and they should not have told everyone he died of drugs when they didn't know. Doctors speak of fact and do not let their personal feelings and judgement interfere but not at this emergency room.
Waiting for over an hour to even get signed in to get ultrasound on my heart...the waiting room is full,3 women working the registration and stil takes a rediculous amount of time to get registered!! What are they doing?? It took a whole 4 minutes to get registered when I finally got called . No excuse for this!!! I'm in severe pain with fractured back but others waiting worse off.... Get more help or make the ones working to actually work!!
My brother had his foot amputated and staff did not change his bandages or sponge bathe him for five days while his surgeon was on vacation for xmas. He also contracted covid while there from staff. After all this they kicked him out, which was good because new facility actually cares.
I would not recommend going to this hospital if you can make it to another facility. I was seen here here with severe vomiting and could not hold my head up. I was brought in by my Pastors who literally had to carry me in. After trying to take my BP by machine and it didn't register was given something for my vomiting was released and told I had a stomach virus, keep in mind I had no insurance. My Pastors new I was really sick and drove me to Princeton Community Hospital. Once I was at Princeton, my BP was checked and rushed straight back to a room with my bp being 60/40! I was in complete Renal Failure, I had Pancreatitus, and my Potassium was 8.7, my Pastors was told to notify my family that I would not live through the night. Well that was in 2016, by the grace of God and a great bunch of Drs and nurses at Princeton, WV I lived. Stay away from this hospital.
