My husband and I were craving some blue crabs and we have been let down by a couple places in the DC area recently but a friend mentioned that we should try Out of the Blue because they have amazing crabs. We went for lunch yesterday to enjoy the awesome weather. We sat outside and it was just what we needed! The service was great, the food was even better! The manager even came by to check on us during our meal which I thought was sweet. We will definitely be back!

After getting my hair done today I noticed Out of the Blue for the first time. I had my family come meet me there for dinner tonight to try it out. We got some blue crabs and I was highly impressed with the size and weight of the crabs especially for this time of year. My husband and I also split the pick 2 meal, we picked fried oysters and the crab cake with sweet potato fries and the mushrooms. It was well worth the price with the large portioned sides. We were absolutely stuffed after!

This was our first time eating at this restaurant and the food was delicious. The calamari was excellent. We were extremely pleased with everything we ordered. Jack was our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back and will recommend to others. Thanks for a great first experience.

On my last visit the food was great. Tried the crab dip for the first time and it's now my favorite appetiser. The prices aren't too bad $20-$50 on average. I wouldn't recommend the colossal shrimp platter (6 shrimp) $26, the shrimp by the pound is definitely more filling and priced reasonably. My family goes here often can't wait for the all you can eat crabs during the summer we stay for hours. The tables are currently spaced at least 6 ft apart and all servers and guest are wearing mask except while eating of course. Lastly, there is outdoor seating!!!

good service and pretty good seafood, just a little overpriced and under seasoned on some items. we LOVED the mussels appetizer and the hush puppies are also quite good. as a seafood lover, i just found the (non market priced) items to often be costing a bit more than they should. we got the fried flounder which was cooked well but under seasoned, and the crab and shrimp club which was pretty good. the mussels again — were awesome!
