Stay away from this provider! Especially if they do not accept your insurance - although they may not tell you.nMy 22 year old son was seen by one of the physicians there in July 2018 with severe chest pains - transferred to Geisinger Hospital to be treated for Pericarditis with over $27K in billed charges for R&B and medical/professional fees. Unknown to him and his mother, this was an out-of-network provider who subsequently billed us for the full amount of the emergency charges, although our insurance coverage processed the claim with an expected discount. The carrier attempted to speak to the provider in an attempt to negotiate and ESP would not even engage in a discussion. ESP also left aggressive and close to threatening messages (reporting me to a collection agency and potentially impairing my credit, etc.) after I had shown them the EOB that I paid what my insurance carrier indicated I owed (after discount and non-covered items). Lesson learned I suppose, but another example of physician greed and total lack of compassion. Shows me it's all about the money, not the care. Be patient ESP - the check is in the mail. Thanks Cigna for trying to work this out on my behalf.

Got whacked $918 for visiting an in-network ER/doctor. Don't know how this came to be. Don't worry i'm not discriminating against this company - I will be leaving bad reviews for Geisinger as well.

I went to the Geisinger CMC Emergency Room in May 2018 after having a gallbladder attack. I have BC/B.S. insurance. I was never informed that the attending physician was out of network. I received a bill from Emergency Services for $918.00. I sent them a payment for $271.20 from my insurance co. They never sent me an updated statement acknowledging the payment. It's not even 2 months and they turned me into collections. I called them 4 days ago and left a message for them to call me. I'm still waiting for the call. It is very disappointing that Geisinger CMC uses the doctors from this service. I feel the hospital should cover these charges since I was not informed. On top of that the doctor never told my I had a gallbladder attack or a hiatal hernia. All he said to me was follow up with your family doctor. I recommend not using Geisinger CMC Emergency Room services if you have BC/B.S. insurance because their doctors do not accept the insurance.

If you have BcBs stay way they are not participating and there is no way of knowing that until u get the bill . Geisinger won't help because they r not their employees . Insurance won't help because they r not participating. Too bad u don't have time to google this site when u r dying . Terrible business practice .
