CMH Urgent Care - Astoria

The MA on duty when I got to Urgent Care seemed unprofessional, however the MA that helped me was great! I believe her name was Alisha and she was very kind and personable. Susan Simms was the provider that saw me and I felt like she was relatable and knowledgeable given the reason for my visit. (Not a standard Urgent Care need, just came here as a last resort) I would trust this clinic in the future.

My husband went in for an abscess, the “doctor” lanced it and prescribed an antibiotic. They told my husband the antibiotic would be 3$ if we went to Walmart(30 min from where we live). The antibiotic ended up being $65! They charged us $500 for the visit and now it is back in full force. We recently got a membership to telehealth where my husband got a live chat appointment for $40(with no insurance) and they sent a prescription directly to the pharmacy. The telehealth doctor said it should not have been lanced unless the doctor was going to remove it all. The staff at this hospital are untrained and ill educated.

The lady who tested me was very short and mean with me, I was trying really hard not to start crying in front of her. Not good experience to say the least!!

I have never been treated so rudely by a healthcare provider, as I was by Susan Sims, FNP. I had a severe sinus infection and needed an antibiotic. She spent less than 90 seconds with me and I waited an hour for her. The rest of the staff seemed quite tense as well. My PCP told me to go there as they did not have any appointments available today.

I will only go to Providence. CMH not only provides below average care, they also charge more for their services. If you need lab work, go to Interpath lab across the street. Go have your imaging done at Providence. CMH also lost two vials of my blood...but of course still billed my insurance.
