Sapori Restaurant Scarsdale

I celebrated my nomination today in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we enjoyed a fantastic evening and the restaurant was indeed the reason for the happy evening. The crew helped in a lovely way, the meals were appetizing and my buddies were very delighted. We shall surely visit again for more events. thanks very much.

Eh~ Had an early reservation on a Saturday. Overall, none of the food was the appropriate temperature. Namely, nothing was hot or warm. Tepid eggplant appetizer. Hard burrata appetizer (?). Medium warm halibut. Nice tableside cooking but the atmosphere seemed a bit less than friendly. Not terrible but not returning.

It's easy to walk out of a restaurant with a really good impression when everything has gone perfectly. Well made drinks, delicious food, friendly, attentive wait staff...everything pointed to that perfect meal. And then, well...stuff happens.nMy wife and I both had the Bolognese and after drinks, apps and bread we had a full portion left over between us, so we decided to take it home. We poured mine into my wife's bowl and the busboy brought it into the kitchen to wrap it up...still perfect.n30 seconds later Sammy ( the owner) came out to ask who had the Bolognese and why they didn't like it? We were happy to see the care he put into his product and assured him we both had the same dish, loved it and want to bring it home with us...and then came the the problem. Our food came out of the kitchen and it seemed to have lost 50% of it's volume. It was obviously smaller. My wife and I looked, lifted it up to confirm the problem. Then Sammy , who was still at our table picked it up, handed it to the waiter and told him to bring out a new, full portion to go.nWe were blown away! It's something that wait staff often do...fit the take home food to the container, not pick a container to fit all the food.nAnd we didn't say a thing!nBefore this episode we liked Sapori, we now love it.nBravo Sammy and Sapori.

Got the octopus as an appetizer which was burnt and extremely chewy and dry. Entree was Saltimbocca which was also very tough and chewy - very disappointing. To be fair I didn't complain about any of it because I was too cold.
