The owner Rob Brown of Clark Marine is AGAINST the Right to Repair bill in Maine. This bill would allow consumers and non-manufacturer repair techs to have access to schematics, repair documentation, and service parts that manufacturers are commonly restricting access to. He does not want his customers to be able to do any repairs on their own, but would want them to use his service department instead. Excuse me, but if I buy a boat, do I not own it? Should I be able to take it to a mechanic of my choosing? He is more concerned about the bottom line of his service department than allowin a customer to chose who can service their boat. Rob misled Maine politicians during a hearing, including stating that a starter replacement could cause a boat to EXPLODE. Imagine if you could only take your BMW to a BMW dealership for ANY service including oil changes and tire rotations. You have the option to go to a non-dealer repairshop or service it yourself. Clark Marine does NOT have your best interests in mind but simply wants to make sure you bring your boat to them only for any maintenance. If you don't, you will definitely get stranded on the water, your boat WILL explode, and you won't spend money on the boating industry, and others will be scared to make a purchase. Rob Brown, are you afraid that you may have competition with other mechanics in your area?

Came to look at pontoons. The weather was bad, so everything wad wrapped. The sales staff was friendly as we walked around to look at the available pontoons. Unfortunately there were no used options.
