Would not recommend this place. Older guy with the ear ring could not be bothered to answer a child's questions, was visibly irritated to be helping me buy anything. The irony is I was going to go to Petco and then thought to myself, I'll go here instead because it's a neighborhood store. I don't mind paying a little extra to help an independent. Won't do that again.

Amazing variety of fresh/salt water fish and coral. The tanks are well kept. The employees genuinely care about their fish and helping out.

I’ve been coming to this store ever since I was in kindergarten. (I’m a senior in highschool now and have been in the hobby for over a year now!) I love every single inch of this local business.nnThis is definitely one of the best stores in the area. They offer everything you need, have a beautiful assortment of species, and have an array of impressive tanks. Don’t settle for the big-box stores...they may offer you a better price but nothing beats the knowledge and customer-service these guys have.nnSpeaking of customer service...many reviews I’ve read have mentioned that it’s not the best at Old Orchard Aquarium and I can understand why some may perceive it to be that way. This is a pretty serious hobby...you’re maintaining live creatures after all. Many people just listen to the incorrect advice that the big stores offer and/or just don’t educate themselves enough. There are many requirements needed to maintain an aquarium properly and in all honesty, the staff here just wants to make sure you do it right. I won’t lie, when I was getting into the hobby I was pretty intimidated here too. In the end though, it IS worth it. Please shop here! You’re getting quality products and livestock.nnAll in all, as I continue to dive deeper into the hobby, I know that Old Orchard Aquarium will offer me the best services available.

The fish are very healthy. They have a decent mix of species. Prices aren't too bad. If you get the right person, they are extremely helpful.

I’ve came here first as a kid and now I’m bringing my son.nnThey’re good people here. Ethical. Proper care of the animals. Good advice and guidance on even evenly commonly abused fish like betas and goldfish.nnThis is the kind of pet store you want around.
