I have been going to this store (different locations) for many years now. Always a great selection and exceptional prices. Today I found the perfect sandals.

I love the selection of shoes. But what I love the most is if I like a shoe in the store but they don't have my size they check online and if available have them mailed to my house. GREAT customer service.

I got to the store around 7:30ish, the Google listing said they were going to be open until 9 so I thought I was fine. I wasn't greeted at any point while I was there. I couldn't find a shoe I wanted to exchange so I circled for most of the time. It wasn't until they cut the music off that I knew that they were closing. Associate A was a little irritated. (Which could have been avoided if one of the three people there had said anything when I walked in.) She passed the transaction off to associate B and went to go lock the door. I noticed that the shoe I was buying was dirty and mentioned it offhandedly. I did not ask for a discount -- Associate B did and Associate A, still irritated, told me 'the best she could do'. I totally appreciate it. However, Associate B wrapped up the sale and threw the inserts that came with the shoes I purchased away...which again, I did not ask for. To their credit, they have the best set up for social distancing. There's no reason for other people to be in your bubble because it's clearly marked.

This pertains to ordering online, and it should be noted that my in-store experiences have always been positive.nnI ordered two pairs of shoes for my 3.5 year old on August 27th. The first pair arrived after a few business days with the box well packed in another box. I cannot fault DSW for the delivery, which was at the top of the stairs on the landing with three doors instead of at my clearly labeled door: that's on the shipper.nnThe second one had no tracking number, so I requested one a week ago, and let them know about the delivery. Customer service gave one, and advised I wait 48 hours to try and track the remaining package. The label showed as printed August 27th.nnI received the second package today, September 10th: the box had been put into a plastic envelope with no padding. The box was so damaged in shipping that lid ripped completely off, or was not attached to the box when it was packed.nnI know there is a worldwide health crisis, and we're all figuring things out as we go. I would even be fine if they informed me directly that shipping was slowed down the hurricanes, and would happily have waited longer. That's reasonable.But sending new merchandise in a box that has literally been ripped apart and squashed is terrible service.nnIf you plan on ordering from DSW, I recommend waiting until they've adjusted to the new, higher volume demand on their shipping department. You can't unbreak your heart after watching your child cry that they don't want the new shoes they were excited about before seeing a trashed box.
