The Gifford House is right in the center of town. Walking distance to all the attractions. The Gifford House is a clean and courteous establishment. It has an old world charm. They give you real keys to your room!

This has to be the best place to stay in all of Ptown. My room was so color coordinated that I knew I had landed in heaven.

Lots of noise from inn next door (even during covid) and noisy street.nOtherwise nice place and friendly service, charming building, amazing location.nDon't come here if you need quiet, otherwise it's great

Intolerance.nnWent with my girlfriend on a Saturday evening (9:20 pm) to request a room, and despite of being the hotel mostly empty we were told that it was full, that there were not available rooms, and that the last two rooms were occupied by two guests that came just right before us...nnMy girlfriend was in so much disbelief. Being she from Catalonia - Spain, and working as a social worker in a very tolerant space, she was deeply shocked to see how we were rejected for being a straight couple.nnAfter working for some time around Christopher Street in New York City I was not socked at all for the reaction of the staff from the hotel, since very well I learned in NYC that intolerance is well extended into any group, race, religion and sexual oriented group.nnWe had to leave and find somewhere else where to sleep that night.nnPS.- There were only two cars in the parking lot, my car and one of another guest.

The Gifford House is an older inn, but that adds to the historic charm. Harvey, Dave, Bob and the rest of the staff were awesome and make you feel right at home. They are all so tolerant and welcoming. Given the age of the building I was impressed by how quiet the rooms were. The rooms aren’t updated but the prices are about 1/2 of the going rate for Provincetown and the location couldn’t be better with commercial street only 500’ away and the public beach just a 1000 feet. My only recommendation is to pay the extra for a room with air conditioning if you stay in July or August (I did). The Porchside Bar on the property is great if you want a drink to start or end your evening. The rooms and facility were clean and the COVID protocols were followed closely. Great place if you are on a budget, care more about location than accommodations or just love older historic inns!
