Winchester Rehabilitation Center

This is a wonderful place to be. I had bilateral knee replacement on 10-3 and have been here beginning 10-5. The nursing staff is excellent and the rehab care is outstanding.Just great. I would definitely come here again if I needed care. A winner!

My mother had a brain aneurysm that caused a severe stroke while she was a patient at Winchester Medical Hospital. Thank God she was there already and they were able to catch it. HOWEVER.. before being moved from there to Winchester Rehab Center we (the family) we ASSURED we would be working directly with her case manager regularly to see her progress and develop a plan for her return home. She has been there almost two weeks and they're about to release her. They've done great work with her so far but I do not feel she's ready for release. Not only that I haven't received a single call from her case manager. Mind you I live over 4 hours away and have not been able to be there as much as I'd like. The only communication I've gotten was my mother telling me when she will be released, according to this case manager. The case manager has been unwilling to help find my mother a more long term rehab center. My mother is still paralyzed in left leg and still falls daily when trying to stand up. It's very uneasy knowing they're willing to just release her, especially without communicating with us, the family. When I was given a briefing of this facility before her arrival and expectations I should have, I am blown away by how false all of that was. A case manager should be much more willing to help a concerned patient find further rehabilitation if they feel uncomfortable being released in just 2-3 short weeks.
