Carilion Clinic Family Medicine - Dayton

Carilion doesn't seem to have their ducks in a row. Trying to get immunizations done before school and I keep being told that either they are out of a certain immunization or my child doesn't need it because he's already had it. But then I get a call from the school after they look at records and they say he does actually need it. Or the school calls to get details on why they are out of a vaccine and suddenly I can get in to get the vaccine. So I've been working nearly all summer trying to get immunizations done and it'll require about 3 or 4 trips to the clinic to get this done. They also wanted to schedule a second well child visit just to get a vaccine after he had already had a well child visit. Nobody seemed to know how to schedule *JUST* a vaccine. Insurance isn't going to pay for 3 or 4 well child visits I guarantee it. Also, when I call the receptionist they say they cannot schedule the appointments I have to call the nurse line and leave a message. Well that takes at minimum so far 3 days for them to call me back and schedule the appointment and when they do call me back they tell me I can just make the appointment with receptionist...but the receptionist adamantly insists she cannot so now I'm leaving another message and will wait days I'm sure to get a call back to schedule one shot. I'm running out of time before school starts and this began back in March - it's now almost September. I don't think I'll be back. I've never seen a Dr's office run so poorly and never had so much doubt in what the Dr's/nurses/receptionists are telling me. From my own personal experience, I cannot recommend Carilion.

These folks are out for your money, not to help you and your ailments. Extremely unprofessional last visit that will lead me to seek another family practice. Dr. Marsh was my original doctor with this practice and we never had problems.

Girlfriend called at 8:05 been listening to please wait for 20 mins. No answer, terrible service. At least let it go to answering machine and call back

Ive been holding on to sickness about all month...Im very hard to please, especially when it comes to a Doctor!! So let me tell you about Dr. Laura Root. She has the most empathy I've seen in a very long, long time...she does all she can, to cover all bases, to help get you all fixed up and better quickly!! So if your looking for a great, caring doctor Dr.Laura Root is your answer!! God bless you! I just called at 9:00 on 9/28/2019 and let it ring for 11:00 mins and also called several other times and no one picks up the phone. Terrible service for someone that needs to fill a prescription
