Dr. Punyala is very knowledgeable on the medications. He certainly likes to see his patients doing well, but make sure you are doing the therapy that is recommend. They are definitely there to help, but you can certainly tell everyone in that office has been through hell with problematic patients who aren't taking care of themselves. Once I started taking care of my body, and focusing on my goals, the medications really started doing work. Eat your meals, drink water, and be patient! I would suggest remembering when seeking treatment that everyday isn't going to be sunshine and rainbows. Life isn't always in your control, how you respond is, and how you feel can be managed. -best advice from a current patient

If I could give this office a zero star I would. I have never dealt with such poor patient advocacy, no sense of urgency to patients when it comes to speaking to the receptionists which has the most poor attitude towards patients. Apparently their patient clientele is of lower stature, so they treat all patients as such. Receptionists call doctors liars when it comes to medical reports, and messages that are important are never addressed. I would never recommend this office to anyone with severe mental issues, especially including recent and past trauma. You will not be listened to, and you’ll either be treated like a drug addict or a insignificant person. Stay clear

I wish there was a zero star review. Because this is the third time I had sat there and waited almost an hour n twenty minutes. I even showed up on time and got told my doctor's is in a conference call. When he has an appointment???? For over an hour? Why even schedule an appointment when I'm on your time!

If your ever curious about what is wrong with Mental Health Care in our country..visit Va South Psychiatry and speak to any person employed by them. They are horribly rude, incompetent and are really only concerned with pileing as many patients into the day as they can so they can collect that $$. To be an office specialized in dealing with mental health issues for all ages you would think they might at least try to smile, be positive, helpful, human.. but No...shame on this practice for their horrible treatment of all that go there.

Worst customer service ever. My dr is always over an hour late and they can never schedule me around my own schedule nor do the people at the front desk even care about patients. I would not recommend this place.
