Came to the emergency department here. It was pretty busy. Wait times were really long. I didn’t get a room, instead i got a bed in the open between two rooms. I don’t know if it’s because I needed to be watched or because they were out of space. They got me a warm blanket when I said I was cold, which was really nice of them. I had to speak to a social worker, and that took a really long time. Overall pretty okay experience.

Just returned from having a laparoscopic appendectomy at Cape Cod Hospital. They were fantastic every step of the way. The facility is beautiful. Everyone was friendly, professional and caring. And most everyone had a fine sense of humor. The surgeon, resident, intern, CT technician, anesthesiologist and nurses each told me what they were going to do and what to expect. The doctors gave me complete information about my condition and the possible outcomes. In my case I was lucky that the best possible outcome transpired. I did have to wait for long periods of time. But the hospital was full and that's to be expected. My private room was on the 5th floor facing north and was very nice... but I have to admit that I was jealous of the south facing rooms. They overlook Hyannis harbor and Nantucket Sound. Finally, the omelette I had was pretty good.

I have come here over the years many times with the kids and have had many good experiences. Staff are wonderful and knowledgeable. The staff help take care of everyone to the best of their abilities and offer compassion and understanding to all. I truly appreciate the kindness bestowed on my family as well as the care provided.

I went to Cape Cod Hospital on July 3 for an eye injury. I came in at 8 AM was admitted seen in discharge within an hour and a half. The doctor and nurses were very knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend anybody to come here, especially if questioning whether this is a good hospital or not.

My husband went in to the EM center recently for an accident he had getting on a boat.He had a few deeper cuts on his leg and almost severed a toe. I dropped my husband off at 10:15 am in swim attire. I understand Covid 19 has changed a few things and that was a concern as well. I was appalled to pick him up 5 hours later with blood stains still on his leg and my poor application of band aids I applied on the boat were still there. No one had cleaned any of his wounds on his leg. The toe was stitched at 3 pm , I picked him up at 3:30 and he still had his IV attachment on his hand which I had to remove at home. I immediately cleaned his wounds that should have been done in the 5 hours he was in the EM center. I only pray he does not come down with an infection. The EM Center was far from busy on this day. There is a problem when an EM Center does not do basic wound care. We deserve a better EM Center here on Cape Cod.
