TAMO Bistro & Bar

Walked in on a whim on a Saturday night, as it seemed the only place that we could get a last minute reservation. Just looking for drinks and apps, ended up seating us right away. The atmosphere is like a suburban hotel bar. The inside felt dated, despite the nice location and signage outside. Drinks were very mediocre and the nachos were felt like a cheap sports bar rather than a seaport restaurant.

Watched enough 'Kitchen Nightmares' to tell when a place has issues. Service has to be the worst I've ever had. Waited close to 40 minutes from when we were sat at our table before we had someone come around to ask if we wanted drinks or put a food order in. Once we were able to, things came out quickly and was all really good but for a place that was half empty at the time, it left a sour taste in my mouth as I was thinking that if we ordered pickup from across the street whether I would have been done with my meal before anyone bothered to attend to a table in front of the bar.

This establishment is really a joke. I visited this restaurant last night with my girlfriend after looking for some restaurants in the area and decided to give it a shot. We didn’t catch the servers name because he never gave it to us... the only thing he did give us was mad attitude lol. The first warning sign was when he asked us if we wanted drinks and we said we’d just like water for now as we look. He literally stared us down as if we just did something nasty and then walked away ( I’m assuming he wanted to build the check up for a bigger tip at this point already ). It took him about 30 minutes to get us our water to the table. We waited so long for the entrees to come out that they actually brought us out our deserts before it LOL. We returned the deserts to wait for the entrees and when we had got the deserts later, it was the same ones that they prepped and just let sit there ( whip cream was melted all over the deserts ). No utensils were switched out for apps, entrees, or deserts. Not one time was a beverage asked to be refilled. The waiter had a short blond hair comb over style and was wearing black suit .. I now will never trust any waiter with this attire .. lol jk but really though I’ve never had such a bad experience at a ‘high end’ restaurant before. The dirt on the cake was when we got the bill and saw that the gratuity was automatically applied for us at 18% for a table of two. I then saw why he treated us the way he did for our whole experience eating there .. it’s because he didn’t care.nnEDIT RESPONSE TO OWNER: It may seem “odd” in your perspective for me as a customer to not complain about the service but understand that when people like me go out to dine, we aren’t there to critique and complain... we are simply there to enjoy a dinner out. We waited 30 minutes to get water, and not once was checked up on for a simple refill. We spent over 2 hours there and most of it was waiting, we weren’t attended too and quite frankly we simply decided we weren’t going to ever go back to your restaurant instead of complaining to non existent service.

Nice place to think about business. Service is consistently great. If it was closer to my home I would be here often.

Atmosphere, service, and food were all great. Would definitely come here again!!
