It has been a week since I was admitted to the Emergency room for a fractured tibia. At first the staff was going to have to perform emergency surgery but they were able to stabilize my leg so I could fly back to the east coast and have surgery at home. I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff was - from the security and receptionist to radiologist tech, nurses and doctors. Their Covid protocols were appropriate and what I would expect during a global pandemic. I have been a frequent visitor over the years to Big Sky and am so grateful to have this institution part of the community. Thank you to ALL the staff!

We visited for a broken tibia! The staff that met us was very helpful and attentive to patient. The nurses were kind and helpful moving someone in severe pain. Due to Covid nobody was allowed in ER and it made for a very difficult transition. Since a good portion of visitors are from out of state it would be nice to have a liaison to help family waiting. Possibly get permission from patient to communicate and maybe hourly update family on stratus. Even though patient gave permission for ER to share info there was zero info as to the status of patient and patient had drugs on board and not communicating clearly to those outside. When waiting several hours it might be nice to provide some access to bathrooms and updates or possibly provide port a potty since in our case we had driven 1.5 hrs and didn’t have anyplace to go/wait. Patient was released and there was no opportunity for family to ask questions and understand how best to support patient. Patient having had pain meds wasn’t completely clear on everything.

I'm from Colorado. So happy they take Colorado Medicaid! Worst part about vacation was my special needs child spraining the top of his foot. Not only did they get us in and out quickly, and the xray was quick, but they definitely know how to tend to special needs children. I'm a very critical person and I definitely have the hardest head of anybody I know, and I rarely give 5 stars, but they were great! Can't say the same for the people in this expensive, snobby town. But wow...was definitely happy with the care for my son, and they really brought my stress level down tremendously. 5 stars from me!

My sister was brought here after a riding accident. We are here on vacation, as are many people. Not only could I not be with her, I wasn’t allowed to wait inside, and they almost wouldn’t let me use the restroom. The communication was abysmal although the ED doc was very nice once I finally got an update. I am in health care and completely understand the need for covid related safety, but it seems they haven’t given any thought to being patient and family centered.
