i am not the letter E (02/11/2021)
I brought my daughter here just before Christmas. She was a kind, tender person who wouldn't even kill a bug! But one night, after a Christmas party with her friends, she suddenly changed! She was manic and a danger to herself and others. She was admitted to BHC. Staff was very professional and accommodating.nnShe was reluctantly released after 10 days. Not long after I got my baby home, she became manic again, paranoid, violent. I had no clue what to do. She went back to BHC and has had the BEST CARE a mom would want for her daughter! The nurses were kind and truly tried to help her. Their doctors work well as team players.nnMy sweet daughter was diagnosed and is now being treated at this facility as we wait for State Hospital to accept her. They treat both me and my daughter with respect and genuinely want to help! I cannot express my gratitude that places like this exist in IF.nnI would indeed recommend this place. It's a safe haven for the kiddos who need a gentle push in the right direction in life. And I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who has serious mental health issues. They bring hope back to the kids, at least they are doing that for my precious girl.

I know there has to be worse mental health facilities, yet I have never seen one. There are no psychologists, or for that matter, any type of counseling. The psychiatrists are the very worst in the area - and that should be indicative of its quality. Basically, this is a meatball neuropsychiatric hospital, where each patient stays a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 days.nnTruly sad, and without hyperbole, nearly every person is diagnosed with bipolar disorder and prescribed Zoloft in combination with Seroquel. You will receive no counseling. The psychiatrist will ask you few questions and unfortunately treatment, if improperly performed, is worse then a condition left untreated.nIf you live in Idaho, please make the drive to Salt Lake City and seek treatment at the University of Utah.nnWhen it comes to the core APA ethics, the most important aspect, ethics, and practice of ethics here is so far from ideal or even acceptable that I actually cringe at the thought.nnCare at any neuropsychiatric Clinic, which is perhaps a better name then behavioral Health center, as there's no concentration on behavior whatsoever, I'm sorry to say that most patients were out of place. The majority of the patients and chances are if you're reading this, this is you or someone you know, properly belonged in a setting in which they could receive some treatment, get back on their feet, get feeling better and get out the door, but here's the real important part: feel good about the time they spent recovering from whatever brought them there.nnThere are the occasional acute patients and they have absolutely no business being at this facility, they're are always problems, sometimes other patients are assaulted by these acute patients, though considering they're lack of culpability, this is the physician's fault, and I have seen this happen. The staff simply isn't equipped to handle them, the psychiatrists in these cases are clueless, and the individual simply needs to be transferred to the state hospital or a private hospital where they can receive intensive care. These cases are tragic, mostly for the patient and the other patients around them.nnLastly, yes it is possible to simply find yourself here because well someone said you did that, or you said this, because in the state of Idaho in order to end up in the clank you need two witnesses, that's not the case here. So, be aware if you are subject of abuse, that a clever person, an abusive person, will often use law enforcement without their knowledge, make claims and statements of fact, that will easily 'Grant' the 72-hour hold based on not much of anything besides the suspicion of psychosis, essentially anyone, even the slightest bit upset could end up that way.nnI know this to be the case, it's an instrument of abuse and control, and it's the last place you're going to be able to find any help dealing with something that's really happening, and in fact, a true Mental Health oriented issue, and I've known others in similar situations. A person who can't control you with the police and jail, a clever person who's often very familiar with mental health procedures because they are very familiar with mental health procedure in the state of Idaho. An abusive individual will use this facility and continue to use it because it accommodates them. For that reason, above all else, when I hear of this place I instantly feel nauseated, and I hope if you find yourself in a similar situation where you in a bad way due to the action and statement of others, you need to accept the abuse and mistreatment which the psychiatrist will further. They will act as an advocate and sometimes a direct proxy for the abuser. This a fact, I've seen it happen to others, this waking nightmare happened to me. BHC enabled others to mistreat and abuse me for years, without them it wouldn't have been possible, right hand to God.nnShame on them.
Ok but who asked (03/24/2021)
The adolecent unit is honestly kind of bad, but what do u expect with so many defiant and unstable teens. I have been there 4 times and i eventually went to teton where things were much better. i really appreciated nick and doug from the adolecent unit because they were always there for me, and suzy who was my 1 on 1 was amazing, in teton my therapist was amazing and i have been doing great. i have been out for a little over a year now, also jen makes really good food

I absolutely loved this place it helped sooo much! the staff was amazing especially a certain someone. i made friends that struggled with the same problems as mine. there were a couple staff members that took away straws back in November 2020 kinda sad about that because it really helped with my anxiety . but overall my stay was amazing other than my roommate she was messy and trashed the room.
