Nostalgia and historic ambience are abound here. We were intrigued by the architecture of the time and the way modern upgrades were incorporated yet leaving an authentic look throughout. During our entire stay, the employees had our best customer care in mind.nWhile similar to other fine Colorado hotels of the time, the Colorado has a unique enchanting personality.nThe 104°outdoor mineral springs across the way are an added bonus for Glenwood Springs visitors.nI look forward to my next trip to this lovely and enduring hotel for another great experience.

who loved our stay. It was so great. The room was awesome. The view was amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was an ample amount of pillows. There was no obnoxious behavior. unfortunately we didn't see any ghosts. I did try hard. My only disappointment was when I got room service and they automatically put the gratuity in. That's not very classy. You would get a lot more I would believe, if you gave the customer the choice to tip. I gratuity is supposed to be optional, not automatic. Anyway, I still had a phenomenal time.

I stayed at hotel Colorado many times as a child, and had very fond memories I was excited to share with my boyfriend who is not a Colorado Native. We were excited to spend my birthday weekend relaxing and enjoying the charms of the town and the old hotel. Unfortunately, during our trip with we were really unimpressed. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very kind. But we got next to no sleep due to loud pinging coming from the pipes ALL NIGHT LONG every night. Staff advised the hotel was old and gave us ear plugs. Which we felt wasn’t much of a fix considering the money we spent during our stay, but tried to make the best of it under the circumstances. However, the biggest problem every time we came back to our hotel room the door was wide open. We could not get it to latch and stay closed. The only way it stayed closed was if we used the dead bolt, which you can only do if you are inside the room. We didn’t see a resolution to this problem until our last night. Although, the maintenance guy informed us he had seen our door left open a few times through out the weekend and noticed no one was inside the room. It was very frustrating, and the lack of security for our things was concerning. Over all the staff was kind, but I don’t think we will be back again. No sleep, coupled with a door that wasn’t fixed until our last night with the hotel, very much soured our experience.

Rooms are very warm. We were there when it was only in the 60s outside. We had our window open and the fan going all night. Our heater was off. There is no way I would stay there in the summer time for sure! The carpets could use a little TLC. We had breakfast in the restaurant that was good. Staff is very nice. We were a little surprised about the $50.00 a night surcharge? For what? They say incidentals? There is no pool or fitness center. We grew up in Glenwood and always wanted to stay at the hotel. Now that we have I don't think that we would choose to again. It was a nice stay, but we will try a different place next time.

What I liked about this property...n-The hotel is conveniently located with a short walk to the pool and restaurants.n-The staff we encountered was friendly.n-The beautiful and large lobby. Great for meeting up with friends or just relaxing in a comfy chair. It was very nicely decorated. I loved the antique furnishings and decor. We enjoyed having our morning coffee in front of the fireplace. -There's also an inviting outdoor courtyard that I wish we took some time to enjoy.nnOur rooms though were not on par with the lobby and almost felt like we were in a different hotel. The rooms were shabbily decorated and needing some basic maintenance such as changing old and broken light switches, replace scratched up/dented furniture, replace a burned out light bulb. The carpet smelled musty, there were smudges on the walls, and dusty surfaces. It was such a contrast from the fabulous lobby area. If the rooms are refurbished, I would definitely stay here again.
