Sierra Madre Cantina

Pricey for food quality. Meat, rice dry. Sauce on enchiladas sweet, no kick at all. Mostly cabbage in fish tacos. If in a hurry this is not the place. Very few people in restaurant but took 1 1/2 for two people to order and get food.

Hands-down the very best food and service I have had in Escondido. The owner Juan is the most interactive kind person I have met in quite some time. This place is an absolute dream. If you’re looking to have a good time, great food, with incredible service, you found the right place.

I sat at the bar and had appetizers and dinner. Oh, my, goodness! The food was some of the best I've ever had in my travels. If your a vegetarian, they can accomadate! And Carlos, the bartender, was professional, courteous and pleasant. I would recommend this establishment as one of the best in Escondido!

Sierra madre was great. The baja shrimp was the bomb! Also had the trio of street tacos, delicious. They are working with a limited menu now but had some good choices. Had to take off one star for service. He was pleasant enough, though seemed a little frazzled and should have had some help for the large bar area he was servicing. All in all it was a great experience. I will definitely return and add the additional star if they work the kinks out.
