The Harper House used to be consistently great. The last few times we’ve been there I haven’t been impressed. The food is just okay and the prices are HIGH. Tonight, our family of 4’s bill was almost $200 for an appetizer, 3 steaks, and a regular meal. My steak was over cooked, not medium like I’d asked for. Our appetizer was floating in grease, the Mac and cheese tasted like Mac-n-cheese you cooked and tried to reheat and were unsuccessful. Our server was very kind, and tried her best to make our meal right. However, I’d rather make the drive to Nashville if I’m going to pay $200 for a meal, and it be fantastic. Hopefully they’ll change back to what used to work. Otherwise, we won’t return.

We tried this restaurant twice because we stayed at the motel close by. It was definitely too expensive! My whole plate of food was too salty and didn’t taste good. The outside design drew us in because it is very cool. They have a big chair inside too and show a western film and have live music. They’ve got the place looking great, just need to improve the cooking and lower prices.

Thanks to my amazing fiance and Harper House I had the best birthday ever! My fiance had an idea in his head and let them know. They made sure his idea was perfect! We had a candle lit dinner on a beautiful table. As our first time, food was amazing. But this time they made sure I was 150% taken care of! Everyone told me Happy birthday and the new owner went out of his way to wish me a happy birthday. We went on a Sunday and the owner was there. Not many restaurants have the owners on the weekend, but this guy was there and was so kind! Thank you Harper House for helping my Fiance make my day great!

I’m very disappointed with our meal. It was bland, barely warm and for only have a few other customers it took a lot of time to get our meal. My prime rib tasted like a slightly warm piece of unseasoned steak, the salmon was dry and had no flavor other than fish, my Brussels sprouts were either over cooked or not cooked and my 10 year old said her School lunch mashed potatoes tasted better than the mashed potatoes she ordered. Additionally I had an upset stomach about 30 minutes after eating there. We won’t be back.
