My father went to this hospital (ER) each night for 4 nights nearly in a row a few months back. On the fourth visit he was told nothing is wrong , do not come back. Well when going to St Joe's in lex we find out he has several buldging discs, pnemonia and has had a stroke. My own experience with them has left me with a permanently damaged leg from mis diagnosis and being treated for a wrong diagnosis for 2 weeks.nnThis hospital will actively work against you if there is anything more needed than a bandaid, and the fact they are still in business is astounding.

We were there 45 minutes, their doctors did nothing but refer us to UK. And our bill was $3700.

Everyone in the hospital from the door screener, clerical staff, nurses, anesthesia to physicians were kind and took very good care of my wife When she was there for a procedure. We have no complaints.

absolutely horrible experience. we had to visit their emergency room at 12am because my friend had a sore throat and couldn’t even swallow and was in serious pain. the lady’s on the phone said they can’t give any advice over the phone and to go to the emergency room. we got there and the lady told us to go back to the car while my friend went into a room. my friend recently got over COVID and told them that but they still insisted on tested her even though she told them it’s still going to come back positive. while testing her they were aggressive and were hurting her and did not care. they then left her in the room and us in the car for almost two hours so my friend called me to come get her out because by now it was almost 2am and they hadn’t even tested her for strep yet. i walked in there and told the lady that she wants to leave and we have a 8am class the following morning and she was really rude and not understanding at all. the nurse that was just SITTING there went over her headset and asked if they were ready to test her and she told me they were on her way to her room to finally test her. My friend said once they entered the room they were really rude and said they are extremely busy and understaffed. keep in mind there was nobody in the parking lot and if they were understaffed then why were the nurses just standing around talking. My friend had already expressed to the nurse that her throat was extremely sore but she still continued to ROUGHLY swab her throat and was EXTREMELY aggressive. they then told her she would have to wait another HOUR for the results to come back for the strep. she told them she wanted to leave and was crying and then they continued to be extremely rude and told her she can leave. the lady who had her license and insurance card rudely gave her her things back. not to mention they did NOTHING to help her pain and we had to run to CVS at 3am to get her medicine for her relief. do not go here, the nurses hate their job and do not care about their patients at all.

The staff needs to realize they work in a hospital where people feel ill, it’s not a happy place but they are suppose to try and make it a good experience for the patients, for some reason some staff members have negative attitudes. Also be sure to give the patients all the appropriate forms to fill out while they're there including the release forms (to fill out) if they are getting tested by Covid-19. Because there’s no possible way for them to do it online at home. So now being as sick as I am and not mobile because the meds they have given me make me drowsy and dizzy, so I have to wait for a family member to take me back to the hospital just to fill out one form so I can receive a copy of my test results, so I can show my place of work. It’s absolutely preposterous. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but hospitals should not, we are putting our lives in your hands. Be better and do better for the people in your community Georgetown Hospital.
