Stillwater Restaurant

Two of these Stars simply go to the location and the natural beauty of it. You can sit outside or belly up to the. The food is typical bar food and could use more love put Into it. However the destination is so unique your chicken fingers and fries will taste twice as good. As the name implies you can actually rent a room here, although this is one of the top places to camp in the ADK. Next to the restaurant New Management runs the general store. This place is a top destination for snowmobiling if you're into that! Nearby you can climb the Stillwater fire tower which is a great hike for kids.

I head up to Stillwater two or three times a year to camp with my kayak. I usually pack up and head home. This time I decided to have lunch at the hotel. Not that three days of my camping cooking is bad but I was hungry. It has been years since I had the chance to eat there. I had a great lunch, great service, and a friendly server. So happy I stopped. Definately will stop again.

It was a beautiful day for a drive and looking at all of the fall leaf colors. Almost at peak. The water was extremely low in the reservoir. We did not actually visit the restaurant due to the covid restrictions. But it was a fantastic time to be out and about. 70+ degrees in the end of September in upstate NY is not always a guarantee.

Marion always provides a first class experience in the woods. Food and drink are always spot on along with friendly conversation. Great snowmobile destination.
