BB&T

All banks have their flaws, but BB&T is the worst of the worst. Use a credit union, but if you must use a bank then use any other bank than BB&T. They are widely known as BB&Fee for a reason. They will nickle and dime you until they have all your money in fees and then refuse to do anything about their poor customer service, even for loyal customers. They will take advantage of you, even if you have banked with them for 20+ years. They do not care, and refuse to do anything about their shameful practices. Don’t bother going to them to ask that they correct an error on your account.

The people who work here are all super friendly. I love how nice the ladies at the window are. However I do have a problem with the way the company handles business. I signed up for an account with overdraft protection. I asked before I left the office of the woman who signed me up if I could overdraft the account in any way and she says no. Now here we are some months later and I have 2 overdraft fees. I call and ask about it only to be told that she for sure told me that I couldn't overdraft on card swipes because that is what she tells everyone. However that is not what she told me. She then tells me that they only protection that they offer is on card swipes, internet transactions and anything charged via a routing and account number can still overdraft the account. The company refunded me 1 of the overdraft fees but said that they cant do the other at all. I call the toll free number to be told that they do have overdraft protection in two ways, on the card and on the account itself. I am opted out! I repeatedly told the lady at the bank that i wanted protection. I ask to opt in and the lady tells me to return to the bank where I signed up and they can do it. Well, obviously they cant, cause they didn't do it when I signed up even though I was told that they had. So she tells me that I can do it on my app.nnThis is ridiculous. Now because someone didn't do their job, I have a $35 overdraft fee that I cant afford and will incur another $8 a day starting on the 4th until I am paid on the 7th. If I am over drafted, why the hell would you continue to overdraft me with charges that I obviously cant afford?!?!

Horrible service! Very unfriendly tellers and supervisor! Did not even try to find a solution to my problem! Very unhelpful individuals at this location! Thank goodness for the other BB&T location in Cumberland where you are ALWAYS greeted with a warm, friendly smile and someone is ALWAYS willing to help you!nBoth BB&T branches in Pikeville have horrible tellers and customer service is just as horrible! I do not believe I've ever come across ruder people in my life! Service was so horrible at both branches in Pikeville, I almost closed my account! Someone needs to clean house at BOTH branches in Pikeville!!!
