They approved us for a HELOC and strung us along for four weeks. 3 days prior to closing they denied our application and would not provide any additional information as to why. It looks like during the underwriting process they realized we were a gay married couple and denied is because of that. Income, appraisal and credit far exceeded their standards. The one contact I worked with directly at the bank was great, the organization as a whole however is a mess and should be ashamed of themselves. Save yourself the time and trouble and use a reputable financial institution rather than this fly by night train wreck!

I do business with 5 different banks currently, and Associated Bank has continued to provide the highest level of customer service while still offering the big bank eFeatures.

Questionable business practices.nnWhen I turned 16 my aunt and I set up an account at this bank since I needed somewhere to put my money from my first job. After a year and a half I moved to Illinois. Since I had opened a debit card account, I thought that I could simply spend the money in the account and the account would be closed after a couple of months. After only a couple months after I had spent the remaining amount in my account I received a bill for 200 dollars. Since I had just moved out and was living paycheck to paycheck this was massively inconvenient, and I had to rush to pay it off so I didn't start my credit on a bad note. I still cannot understand why I received a bill for 200 dollars on a debit card account.

This is literally the worst bank on the planet. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.nINCOMPETENT ONLINE EXPERIENCEnI will be closing my accounts as soon as possible. I would encourage all people to go anywhere but here!!!
