Actually went to the speakeasy in the back - Volstead. The drinks were amazing & the food was good too. The service was so-so & despite having a reservation, we had to wait at the Burgers & Bar host stand for over 10 min while the host worked through all of the people for both restaurants ahead of us who did not have reservations. The hostess was doing an amazing job but having to take all the info from everyone coming in with no reservations while also having to clean all tables was really too much for 1 person.

I enjoy burgers and Bottles they have good energy and focus on burgers. More of a California style burger. Please don’t be afraid of creating your own special burger. I enjoy the brisket sandwich usually a burger with Brisket but let’s just get to the good stuff started to order just a brisket with extra meat. Don’t feel limited on what you can ask for. My wife always gets the bacon cheeseburger medium Rare . Why medium rare ? seems like the grill top might be on too high and I enjoy a medium rare everything. I refer to it as the taste of summer anytime . remember call ahead and put your order in to go. They get busy with with cocktails and burgers. The space is nice, but with COVID-19 and all . The 4 stars is because they have some potential to do better but don’t let that stop you from pulling over and trying the place you might come up with 5 stars.

I went in last night around 9:20 read the sign wait to be seated. After a minute or two of standing there the girl working I assume is the hostess slowly walks over. She asks me and my buddy if we just want to sit at the bar and I said “a quick beer and bite so I would like to be seated.” She says “ I don’t know about food you two can grab a seat at the end of the bar.” I have 18 years of customer service mainly with food so in my experience this would be considered to be very poor.

The Volstead Room (open at 3pm in the back of Burgers and Bottles) has the best whisk(e)y selection in the south metro, maybe in all the Twin Cities. The bartenders are knowledgeable and make GREAT drinks. Don't pass up the opportunity to hang here and talk spirits with the crew!
