Ascension St. Mary's Hospital

My father, coming back from sedated testing at U of M, fainted and was transported to St. Mary's Emergency Department. I should note he has expressive aphasia from a stroke and several cardiac comorbidities. I am an RN, and his patient advocate but was not with him.nnMy mother provided my telephone number to the staff with instructions to call me about his history & medications. They never called. They wouldn't let my mother back with him until they decided to admit him overnight. They didn't explain anything to either of them. What they did do was insert several IVs, and tell him they were going to administer medication that might make him feel warm. At that point, he refused treatment and left AMA. And I don't blame him.nnHow dare you treat and medicate a patient on which you had no clue about his history or medication even though it was offered to you repeatedly??nnYes, he fainted again while leaving. He felt so unsafe at the ED, that he left instead of taking the offered treatment. I don't blame him.

Wife having surgery, need to be there for her but just got the worst snowstorm this year so school is canceled. So my 10yr old son has no where to go, had to bring him with us. At first they wouldn’t let him in. So we had to wait in our car all day in 10 degree weather. But I want to thank Debbie Gough, and I apologize that I forgot the two other women’s names but they recognized that that was wrong and did everything that they could to try to make it right. I would give the initial handling of my request to bring my son in zero stars, but Debbie and the other two ladies were very apologetic and did everything that they could to make it right so they get 5 stars. They repeated that that was wrong and they are making changes so it doesn’t happen to anyone else, because of that they get 5 stars.

Was the best experience Ive ever had in a hospital.The staff were absolutely amazing at taking care of ME as I was in such pain after back surgery and I mean 24-7 Thank you all so much

Ascension at home saginaw - They didn't have a separate area to leave a review for them.nnMy mom gets her fluids through ascension at home saginaw branch and they are supposed to be 24 hour visiting nurses but they come out when they feel like it and when it's convenient for them. The on call nurse Vicky never told my mom she wasn't coming and when I talked to her she said she would get to my house around midnight so she will just wait until the next morning to come because of the snow. Never mind that my mom didn't receive her fluids the day before because her regular nurse never came or answered her phone. On call nurses either don't call back or they choose not to come. We've had several instances where her regular nurse is supposed to come but doesn't. Mediocre care at best . Will definitely push to make sure my mom gets Covenant hospice care when it's time.nnEdited to add that now 2 weeks later we had my mom's dr office alert the supervisor of all the issues we've had and we talked with nurse George thinking we would get better care for my mom. We'll of course we didn't. The fact that they claim 24 hour services is a joke and so is their idea of an on call nurse. They are really Monday through Friday up til 5 pm. They Don care about the health of your loved one and will not come out when they actually said they would. Calling my mom's Dr Monday to get a new service. Would rate -10 stars if I could.

I would appricate it if you would let Nurse Amber (6 South) how much I appricated her compassion, care and understanding during my recovery after my heart surgery during late Aug. of this year. During her very busy schedule she always found time to check in on me to see that I was taken care of. Knowing that I had Spinal Stenosis and had difficulty lying and sitting, she went out of her way and got me a very comfortable pad for sitting and lying on.nAmber, thank you and may God bless you and your family.nnSincerely,nDon Wazny
