Aside from the fantastic time one can have simply wondering around the shop, the ideas and tips you can garner from the staff are invaluable. Whenever my wife and I head to Bar Harbor we stop in and I drool over the display models. As to the kits, they are superior and well appointed. The inventory of parts is also terrific. But again, unlike online shopping, the help one can get from the hands on staff if wonderful. No question is too trivial and the answers come from people who have been there done that.
Some time ago, i needed some copper plates to sheath the bottom of some rather large scale models. Blue Jacket worked with my artwork and found a fabricator who produced a small quantity. I am sure this was not a profitable transaction and I really appreciate their generous help.
Visited back in 2000 and was most impressed. Being a model maker myself would have loved to work in that environment.
Wonderful store and shop. Beautiful models! If you like ship models this is the place to go!
