My experience here was HORRIBLE! The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing in this facility. Nothing but attitude from almost EVERY person on staff that I've dealt with in Billing and Cardiology. My cardiologist himself, Dr. Samy was great! I wish he worked out of somewhere else though. I will be going to AMITA one last time to gather my records...then RUN back to Northwestern.nnEdit: Changing my 1 star rating to 4 stars now that I've calmed down a bit. Bottom line is... I had a heart attack and Dr. Samy saved my life and I really like the guy. Minus 1 star for the rather disproportionate abundance of snotty staff members throughout the facility and a feeling of disconnect between different departments and a smart-mouthed punk male nurse in ER whose fortunate I was having a heart attack at the time.nnI still will not be returning, however.

I am having LASER optic treatment here, my Surgeon is one of the best in the field. (The surgery itself is at another facility, having the same parent organization.) I feel completely confident in this Clinic

My grandmother was in for an endoscopy yesterday and it was horrible. We were there from 9:50am to 5:30pm. Her surgery was supposed to happen at 11:00am or 11:30am, but she didn’t go back for it until 1:30pm. Then, after I was told that the doctor would come to talk to me after her procedure (she had two separate ones) he never came. It wasn’t until 5:00pm, and talking to four separate nurses(no one knew where she was and blatantly ignored me) someone told me she was in the bathroom and would be ready to go. When I got back to see her she was NOT okay. She said when she asked to use the restroom that a nurse told her, “I can’t deal with you right now”, and threw a diaper at her. Talk about ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. None of the nurses I dealt with after her surgery were please take. I get that it’s late and you e been there all day, but you need to be nice, kind, and helpful to your patients. That’s the whole point of you being there and being a nurse. To TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE, not brush them off and be an awful human being. I’ve had many issues with this hospital and their staff before being completely rude to me and my family. I’ve talk to other people too and they HATE going here. I know I would rather die in an ambulance on my way to Northwest Community Hospital or Lutheran General than be taken to Alexian Brothers or their sister hospital St. Alexius. I’m completely appalled at the treatment here. If you can avoid it or switch hospitals, DO IT PLEASE!

I will never use ABMC again. The AMITA Healthcare System is a joke. They definitely did not care my son was having an asthma attack and dismissed him as if I made the whole thing up. He was later admitted and kept at NCH.nnI don't take asthma lightly--my 6 year old nephew passed away from bronchial asthma---his doctor out of Alexian dismissed his symptoms, too. I physically, emotionally, and mentally would not be able to handle another death of a child in my family due to their disgusting negligence.nnScrew this hospital and their system..nnOh yes, their pediatrics er is not always opened--that blows my mind.

I went in to the ER because I was getting worried on strange red dots on my legs, we thought it was bed bugs but they looked different. I went in and got attended and showed them, then 3 doctors looked at them and said it was bed bugs! I could’ve easily told if it was bed bugs but it wasn’t ! They swore it was bed bugs and that the bed bugs were inside me and crawling up on me! I asked for a blood test and they said no, my mother was mad because obviously they didn’t know what they were talking about. We ended up going to another ER and they did not mention a single thing about bed bugs. Crazy man. I have no idea where they got their education from that makes them a doctor.
