I came in for a pre-employment physical and screening and everyone there was beyond amazing from start to finish! They made the whole process easy and had a lot of fun communicating back and forth with them. Honestly the first time I can say that I had a good time doing a pre-employment physical!

Once again Dr Patel was very professional and accurate. He makes you not afraid to go to the doctor. Definitely my go to Dr for hopefully a long time. Staff is also very polite and professional.

I have Cigna insurance, and I visited Edward-Elmhurst Addison Campus for a general physical. Cigna covers a yearly physical, so I thought I would take advantage of it and make sure my health is in good standing. The doctor I saw was Maria Ariza. After Dr. Ariza finished my physical, I asked two questions about my general health. I asked about lower back pain and bloody noses. After a brief discussion on both, I was rushed out of the office. I was with the doctor for 10-15 minutes. A month later I received an invoice showing I owed $130 for an office visit, not a physical. That was after insurance. I thought that was strange, as my physical was covered under my insurance plan. I contacted the office administrator to discuss the discrepancy, thinking the invoice was coded incorrectly. She insured me it wasn’t, and stated if you ask any questions during a physical that the coding on the invoice can be changed that will bill the patient directly. She referenced that is was legal and ethical according to the American Medical Association. I searched AMA’s website that explained this policy, I couldn't find anything. I then contacted Cigna to verify this information, after talking to a couple representatives they told me they never heard of such a thing. I then contacted Dr. Ariza office administrator again for specific direction on AMA’s website for this policy, I never received a call back. The office was unwilling to change the code back to the original reason I deicide to make the visit, a physical. I paid the invoice so it doesn’t go to collections. I’m not upset about the $130, it’s the legal and ethical decision Dr. Ariza’s office made. I will never use Edward-Elmhurst Medical Group again for myself or family.
