Food and drinks were outstanding! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the room we stayed in had no control for heat or air, and the room at night got so hot it was almost unbearable!.. and to open a window to cool it down. The room was very nice and the bathroom amenities were as well.

We stayed here 2 years ago for my wife's birthday and had a wonderful time so we were excited to come back for our anniversary. This place is like staying at the Ritz but in a beautiful historic home. We stayed in the honeymoon suite this time and highly recommend it, but fully enjoyed our stay last time in a regular room. The staff is eager to help at every level. We were greeted by Seth who was gracious and helpful getting us checked in. Emma was also very helpful in making any accommodations needed to make sure we were taken care of. Jacob at the beautiful bar was also eager to get us served quickly and enjoyable to talk with. And finally, we had a bit of rain on Saturday but really wanted to sit by the beautiful fire pit they have on the back patio but the wood was wet. We asked if we could have a fire after our amazing dinner in the restaurant onsite and Jessica said she would go and get some dry wood and our fire would be ready after dinner, which it was. Amazing.nnThank you all for making our anniversary one to remember, we will certainly be staying at your historic place. The owners definitely know how to bring on team members that understand how to make each person staying there feel like they are the most important guest.nnThank you all!nnDavid and Chelle

Stayed at the General Lewis Inn (GLI) for two nights and ate at the Jefferson Dining Room for both nights.nI thought the food and service in the dining room were excellent. I also had a cocktail in the lounge and it was good.nThe reason for the 3-star rating is the actual room I stayed in. I agree with a previous review about the GLI needing some major upgrades, like new mattresses and pillows, plumbing for water pressure in the shower (I believe the sink had better pressure), and the heater situation (it was really loud whenever it came on during the night).nI see in the website there are some rooms with renovations and wonder if this review does not apply to those newer rooms.nOverall, I appreciated the historic charm, cleanliness of the place, and friendly staff.

Wonderful and historic fancy hotel. We enjoyed walking around Lewisburg from the hotel. The restaurant downstairs is wonderful and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there. Great spot for a weekend getaway.

Dinner was wonderful.. The fried chicken unbelievably delicious! Trout was fresh and flavorful. Coconut cake dessert good but pricey for small thin slice. Had to request to waiter to turn pop music down.. Was extremely loud. Could of had a smooth jazz sound instead to add to atmosphere... Get the chicken...
