The Humble Tomato

Food is phenomenal . Atmosphere is great. But last time I was there I promised the hostess I’d never be back as long as she worked there. I probably shouldn’t have said it, but I was hungry and frustrated and after tipping her over and over 150% tips, she continued to forget to add the damn bread... the singular thing she was responsible for. I wish I had never said it bc I really miss their food. My advice... dine in, don’t carry out.

Beyond anything I have ever tasted in my life and you can rest assured I spoil myself with the best food money ud83dudcb5 can buy because I like to eat my money! This culinary delight is a slice of heaven. Go out of your way to see if I am full of it or not on this amazing mouth watering manna from the Gods of pizza. My family went here two weeks ago, and I’m posting about it because I’ve still been thinking about what a negative experience it was. We made reservations and got to sit at nearby tables which is wonderful because it is so difficult for restaurants to sit parties near each other with the safe distance requirements. However, the service was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The server spilled a drink on my friend and didn’t apologize or bring extra napkins or clean the table with anything to help with the stickiness. Then she dropped a glass of red wine and another drink on the floor next to us. I know it’s difficult in the service industry, but red wine and glass got on my leather purse and my shoes and my friend’s sweater was stained from the spilled drink. The waitress didn’t say anything about it and cleaned it up, but everything was still sticky. I talked to the manager and tried to be respectful and not demanding, and he mopped the floor but didn’t speak to us again. It took an hour and a half to get our food and some of the party had to leave before the food arrived. We ended the night with a ruined sweater, ruined leather purse, and a 20% gratuity added to our bill automatically. I’m putting two stars instead of one because I know people who love it here. We just had such a bad experience that I wouldn’t go again. Lewisburg is a beautiful town with wonderful places to eat and I wouldn’t make this a first choice.

Stopped by the Humble Tomato while on a motorcycle ride to enjoy a fantastic WV Autumn day. This place was a nice change from the usual fast food joints. Menu has a variety of pizza options as well as other Italian dishes. Outside seating was available but we opted to sit inside and enjoy the county atmosphere. Prices are typical for a craft style restaurant. This one is worth another visit in the future.

Pizza FABULOUS. Waiting on an order placed an hour prior not great. Ended up being ready an hour and a half later. Plan at least 3 hours for this meal.
