Residents of White Sulphur Springs are witnessing something of a mini-Renaissance in the downtown area. The trendy Road Hog Restaurant, a large brew pub now under construction, a well-organized hardware store, and smattering of new shops are breathing a new energy into this already-cool place on the map. The Local Wine Shop is a gem-like establishment in the heart of all this new development. The welcoming owner is savvy in his field and has painstakingly managed, within a limited space, to stock the shelves with an impressive variety of wines from around the world. As a budget-conscious patron, I felt right at home here and quickly discerned that even the lower-priced varieties are QUALITY products, carefully selected by the management! The Local Wine Shop also carries a nice selection of Murray's cheese and quality meats. This one's a keeper. Well done!

Too bad I hadn't gone here sooner! Got a family meal last night for 30 bucks. 3 awesome fresh sides and 4 softshell crabs for 30 dollars. Will definitely do their carryout dinner specials again soon. It said for 2 people but we made 4 meals of it easily.

We happened upon this place as it shares Hill and Holler’s parking area. We liked The Local’s menu better so we had a Sunday lunch on their deck. Plant-based burger, fresh salad and soup were all delicious. Love the country touch of real utensils and cloth napkins. Staff was friendly and helpful. Space is well-lit and clean.nnI do wish the salad were served on a dish instead of a plastic carry-out container (or, at least, the lid detached easily). The use of plastic here seemed to be just practical as people do carry-out but it did seem at odds with other sustainability choices like cloth napkins and ‘real’ utensils.nnIf we lived here, this spot would be a regular date night. We will remember it when we travel this way next time.nnThis place also carries some local produce and grocery products in well-kept displays.

Delicious lunch spot. My family enjoyed the beet salad and turkey/bacon panini!

They are a little pricey but very friendly. Best black raspberry ice cream I've ever had!
