I hope your illness is not serious if you go there, because you might not survive. Incompetent, rude, uncaring staff.

The nursing staff in West 2 and the admitting clerk in the ER were very nice and patient with explaining the protocols. Now the lady who is upfront checking temperatures, had a very rude disposition...not what you want want to greet your patients.

I had to use the Extended Hours Clinic in the early part of December. The front office staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The NP I saw that morning was super nice and helpful. I was in and out within an hour! I will def be back and recommend UT Carthage to all my friends and family. The hospital was very clean and seemed nice.

Love the staff! Love the lab! Love xray! Love ER! Love the floor nurses! Love the cafeteria! Myself and my family have been to this facility numerous times over the years. They have literally saved many members in my family lives. We are so thankful for everyone at UT health.

If I could give this facility less than 1 star, I would. My mother-in-law took me to the ER yesterday with severe dizziness, balance issues, tachycardia, upper abdominal pain and some confusion. Unfortunately, the extended hours clinic was closed. The intake staff at the ER initially insisted I had fever which, after my arguing to take my temp without a temporal thermometer, showed I absolutely did not. I understand the COVID situation but I was treated as if I was the walking plague after that. Then, a staff member left me alone in a wheelchair in a room and told me to give a urine sample in the adjoining bathroom. There was a very loud blower and the Simpsons was playing so loud on the TV, I couldn't hear anything. I tried to tell her I needed help walking, hence the need for the wheelchair (they would not allow my mother-in-law in to help me or sit with me and made her stay in her car). The staff member just turned around and left. After sitting there 15 minutes, I got up and went into the bathroom. There was another door with another patient whose entire back and rear end was exposed. I had to enter that patient's room to close the door even though a staff member was in there. I then fell in the bathroom ALONE. When the doctor finally arrived, I tried to talk to him over the blower and loud TV because he initially wouldn't come near me, probably because they made me keep a sticker on my shirt showing an inaccurate temperature (they never changed it after they took a tympanic temp showing it was normal). I explained what had taken place the week prior and that I was having continued symptoms plus upper abdominal pain. He told me to pick a problem and he would test for that. I have never seen a medical professional care less. I called my husband and asked him to call my regular doctor's office. I don't know what was said but my husband picked me up within 15 minutes and drove me to Longview where it was determined I have gastritis and an issue with my liver. Other tests are also being performed (thyroid, magnesium, etc). I will NEVER go to this hospital again - it reminded me of something out of a Frankenstein movie. Stay away from UT Health Carthage!
