Mast is my favorite vintage general store and I stop in several times a year. It's especially gorgeous near Christmas, but nothing beats drinking an ice cold Blenheim ginger ale on the back porch on a hot summer day. I LOVE THEIR MERCHANDISE, especially their boots, knives, socks, kitchen supplies, hiking gear....
This was the one thing my husband wanted to be sure to see on our trip to NC and I am so glad we did! We have a mast general store near us, but the beauty surrounding this store as well as the historic nature of the building - creaky floors, original hardware stuff, the post office, etc - added to the experience here! We found some cute stuff to take back to our family and also some NC local snacks! Great stop.
We always have the best time visiting! This isn’t a hidden treasure that’s for sure. The crowds can be mighty- but it’s well worth it. We make it a tradition to stop in for a glass bottle soda and moon pie on the porch. Definitely will find a sense of nostalgia here!
