I literally come here weekly just for calamari, lamb sliders, and phenomenal service! I always request Gloria because she is simply amazing. She’s always able to give details on specials and menu items which is very convenient, and her positive and cheerful spirit consistently improves the dining experience. With such great food and even greater service, I’ll continue to dine here regularly!
Babalu's is one of my favorite stops when I'm in Jackson(or Mid-Town Memphis). I had the tableside guacamole, the beet salad entree with grilled fish(very tasty!) and a couple of margaritas with agave. Great ambiance and outstanding service (I sat at the bar). Certainly worth your time.
The Black Bean Fritters and Mexican Corn were great! I was not impressed with the tacos, the pork and duck were very dry and there wasn't much flavor.nThe Sangria tasted great, especially since you couldn't taste any alcohol. After 3 of them, I'm convinced there wasn't much wine in them at all.nPlace has some great potential if they can fix the taco issue.
The directions took me the long way, do better Google. But BABALU was exquisite!! The atmosphere, the food, the wait staff were preoccupied and it took a min for someone to speak but the last was so nice that took over!!
Server was attentive but, did not hover. Service & food were good. Bar service was quick & friendly. Will certainly go back.
